My favorite part about makeup is my base. Primer, foundation, concealer, and highlight anything to make my skin look healthy and glowy. My skin is pretty dry and breaks out a lot so I look for a foundation with a medium-full coverage and I don't like it to be completely matte I love a dewy or satin finish. So I was so excited when AnnMarie Gianni sent me their Multipurpose Foundation sample kit! I haven't heard much about this brand but I love what they stand for! They are an organic, natural, cruelty free skincare/makeup line! The sample kit is 20.00$ and comes with small amounts of each of the eight foundations and their facial oil. If you were to just buy the foundation not in a sample it would be 49.95$. There are two recommended ways to use it- for a matte finish use it as a powder foundation and for a more dewy finish take you favorite oil or the oil provided and mix two-three drops with a pea sized amount of the foundation. They say you can also use the foundation for other things like contouring and highlighting. They claim you can adjust the amount of coverage by adding more powder for full coverage and less powder and more oil for more of a tinted moisturizer. I was really pleasantly surprised with the shade range! For only having eight shades they really have a great selection from light to deep. As I said, I prefer a dewier finish so I decided to mix it with the oil provided. I got really lucky, the lightest shade matched me almost perfectly! When I put this on I used what was recommended a pea size amount of powder and a few drops of oil. The coverage was really nice! My red areas were covered and it looked pretty good. I did not think it was dewy enough for me, so I used the Wet n Wild Color Icon bronzer in Reserve your Cabana as kind of a setting powder(Jordi aka Itslikelymakeup on Youtube used it like that and wow-it's amazing! Not too sparkly just very glowy and pretty) At first it looked okay, a little cakey but nothing too major. But about an hour after I applied it started to get very patchy and cling to all my dry spots. I was bummed but I decided to try it a few more times. I used it with more oil less powder, I tried not setting it all, and tried it with my own favorite Pearlessence Argan+Vitamin E facial oil. It just didn't seem to work with my skin. I did not try it as a contour or to bronze up my face only because, unfortunately I think my skin is too dry. So for me, it's a no. BUT-if you have normal-oily skin I think you'll really like this! It's very versatile and it's great to be able to go from light-full coverage. SO I think as long as you have normal or oily skin this foundation will look really nice! The best part is you get the sample kit so you can not only try the product you get to shade match as well! Also the sample kit will look like not a lot of product in each little jar but I have used the lightest shade alone four times and still have at least two more times worth. Which is so awesome because you really get to know if you like this foundation. Another great thing is if you get it and end up liking it they have a loyalty rewards program which is great too! So I do want to try more from this brand, but the foundation really did not work for me. Thanks so much for reading! Make sure to subscribe to my emails to stay up to date on my blogs!:)
(Although I was sent this sample kit this review was 100% honest and my own)
