Making the Transition to Cruelty Free!

Animal testing is a touchy subject. A lot of people know cruelty-free is a thing. They just choose to just turn the other cheek. Which I can understand. It is so hard to learn and research about things like the horrors of animal testing. It's easy to pretend like it's not happening or 'it can't be that bad'. Then, when you finally do look it all up and learn about it all you feel so small. The more you learn the more you feel like you can't make a difference. I know that because that's what I thought in the beginning. BUT DON'T GET DISCOURAGED! There was a while that I knew animal testing was going on. But I just pretended like it was happening and did nothing. At this point I was only buying drugstore so almost everything I bought was tested on animals. I continued to buy Maybelline, Loreal, Covergirl, and many others. I have always loved Youtube I have watched it since I was 13 years old, so one day I was watching videos and I happened to stumble upon something that changed my life. I fell into the rabbit hole of animal rights videos. I never realized just how many there were. I just couldn't go back to what the makeup I've been been using , so that night I separated all of my makeup. I threw some away, gave some away, and saved some of it to use up. I was left with almost nothing. Looking at it all I was heartbroken because I was convinced it was going to be hard and expensive. SO I started researching best cruelty-free makeup!. The more I found out the more excited I got! There are so many affordable and high end makeup brands! Sometimes it can be hard at drugstores. You will have to do your research and sometimes you might stumble upon a CVS or Walgreens with multiple cruelty-free brands and sometimes you'll find no cruelty-free brands. If you have an Ulta around that will be your best bet! They have many drustore brands such as Physicians Formula, Essence, and Nyx(non-CF parent company). The great thing about Ulta is you can also buy some high-end products too! Like Anastasia Beverly Hills, Urban Decay(non CF parent company), and Stila. Just do your research! Don't forget about your hair products, makeup brushes, and skincare! Something that helped me figure it all out was just going to Youtube and typing in-Cruelty Free Makeup/Skincare/Haircare. Once you start searching there are sooo many amazing companies for all of those things! There are so many other ways to do your part! Make your voice heard! Tell your friends and family about cruelty-free products! Let them know that you're going cruelty-free and tell them all the swaps you're making for your favorite products! Even if you get one person to start buying cruelty free its worth it! Let the companies know! Message the companies and tell them why you'll no longer be buying their products. I have a lot of links that are very useful for newcomers and even to anyone who is cruelty free! So I hope this helps anyone who is considering going cruelty free! It's so great knowing your makeup isn't costing/affecting the lives of any animals! Thanks so much for reading!
